This is where we got back on the Seven Waters Trail again in ROchester after our side trip to The Bunker
The trail sign ahead on the left just says Racine County Trail. I imagine that Racine County probably maintains the trail and they use these signs along the trail but there are a lot of trails in Racine County and I wish that they would also use the more specific trail names.
The photo above shows the SWT in one of the more wooded areas. As you can see the trail is paved at this point.
Here is where we crossed one of the waterways on the Seven Waters Trail. I do not think that this particular stream is actually the Fox River but it flows into it and you do cross the Fox River on the trail too.
Another wooded scene on the SWT. This is just before the trail opens up by the dog park and there are also some pine trees in this section.
As I mentioned earlier, there is quite a variety of trail surfaces and scenes along this trail. This part of the trail is just past the dog park in Case Eagle Park, is crushed stone and goes through an open field with some woods on one side. We say some large birds here. I don't remember if they were turkeys of pheasants.
After you go through the woods in Case Eagle Park and cross the Fox River, you need to go on this small side road with bike lanes to get to Saller Woods. The road is called North Browns Lake Road.
When you get back to the SWT again you go through Saller Woods. When we first got on this part of the trail (when we were heading north) I was not even sure if this was the Seven Waters Trail. It was although the surface is kind of like a dirt road and the woods are pretty thick and shady ~ quite a contrast from the sunny open parts of the trail.
After you go through Saller woods you get back on the crushed stone part of the trail again and go parallel to the expressway on the west side.
It was getting a little dark when I took the photo above but ahead on the trail you can see where the trail crosses the expressway. It was not difficult to cross but it is a major 4 lane divided highway and you just cross the road itself (no bridge or anything) so be careful crossing here...
After crossing the expressway you just go south on the east side of the expressway to Wehmhoff Jucker Park in Burlington ~ where we started our ride.
Here's the photo tour of the Seven Waters Trail with plenty of first hand riding details. This ride was from September, 2016.
